Prophetic Run Down Part 1

I realize that I haven't posted much yet on this blog, and I've kind of gone all over the place here so far, so in this post, and the next few, I'd like to just do a run down on the prophecies which have come to pass already, those which are happening now and the ones still to come. I'd like to put a little more order to those which we are seeing and looking for to come. Hopefully this will help put things in a little better order.

When I first "restarted" this blog, I mentioned that most of this material is from my old blog when I was on AOL Blogger. Much of it was written about 4 or 5 years ago, and because things have changed so much since then, I have had to go through my notes and make many changes. I'm sorry for the "jumbling" around up until now, and the fact I haven't posted much lately as I've been so busy.

OK. Here is a list of some of the Biblical prophecies which have already come and are happening now:

The rebirth of Israel, "the dry bones".
Ezekiel 37
Matthew 24:32-34, "the fig tree"

We know that the Jewish people came back to their homeland in 1948, and won the
6 day war in June of 1967, just as God told His prophets concerning His never breaking the covenant with His people. In Ezekiel, this prophecy is actually in parts, but some haven't happened yet. yes, God's people are back in the land He gave to them, but they are still in spiritual "blindness" concerning their Messiah- Jesus, thus, verses 13 and 14 state: "I will bring you back to the land of Israel. Then you, my people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and bring you up from them. I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the LORD have spoken, and I have done it, declares the LORD.' "

God has not put His Holy Spirit in His people yet. That will not come until after the rapture and during the tribulation time, which we will look more closely at in a later post.

The budding fig tree which Jesus speaks of here is to show that once you see the beginning signs start, we know the time is soon when He comes again. The fig tree is one of the last trees to bloom in the late spring/early summer- so when the buds appear, people knew that summer was right around the corner- as it will also be with His coming.

Exiles returning to Israel
Ezekiel 37:21

There have been Jewish people immigrating continuously to Israel since the rebirth of the State. They are still going, many times, leaving relatively "safe" homes in the west- to go to Israel which is under threats nearly daily from her enemies. God is calling His people back Home!

Israel becoming fertile and blossoming
Isaiah 27:6

Mark Twain once described "Palestine" in this way: "A desolate country whose soil is rich enough, but is given over wholly to weeds - a silent mournful expanse.... A desolation is here that not even imagination can grace with the pomp of life and action.... We never saw a human being on the whole route.... There was hardly a tree or a shrub anywhere. Even the olive and the cactus, those fast friends of a worthless soil, had almost deserted the country."

We have seen how Israel has been transformed into modern cities, fertile country sides and farmlands. Israel is a huge exporter of flowers and fruits and vegetables. We have seen how the people have built up farms and
greenhouses in a land which when they came was nothing but sand and rock.

The Roman Empire reviving
Daniel 2:40-43

We know that the European Union is comprised of much of the same area which was once under Roman rule. Interesting enough, is that out of the greatest empires of the ages, the Roman Empire was the only one which was not overpowered by any other. All proceeding empires such as the Babylonian, Persian, Assyrian and Greek were eventually conquered. Rome dissolved- it was never conquered.

Russia rising military power
Ezekiel 38:1-12

Almost daily we can read or hear the news about Russia- "the Giant Bear" waking up. Russia after the cold war and the trial of democracy was mild and no threat. With the rise of communism again and the return to the leaders desire to be dominant again, we are hearing more and more of Russian exploits such as supplying war hardware to enemy states and invading neighbors. Even in the world of oil exploration, Russia is at the forefront, wanting to claim the North Pole and everything under for their own oil resources. Russia- ancient Gog, is a country to keep our eyes and ears on.

The City of Babylon being rebuilt
Isaiah 13:1,6,19

Back in my AOL days, I wrote a post about Babylon, and how it would be rebuilt. It's no secret that Saddam Hussein started rebuilding this ancient city- which began and will end in superstitious "mystery" religion. The fact is, now that Iraq is being stabilized by the American and allied forces and beginning to take control of many of their own areas, the Iraqi government will be looking into making Iraq the next "hot spot" vacation destination. Some day soon, the Antichrist will expand and modernize the city of Babylon, make it a marvel of the modern world, and have it as his capital city.

Global arms race
Matthew 24:6,7

Again, one only has to read or listen to the news and see that despite the willingness of soft politicians wanting to do away with the world's nukes, more and more rogue countries are wanting or already possessing them, and testing them. North Korea, Iran, Syria, Pakistan and others all have dangerous situations which could lead soon to a genuine launch and nuclear war.

Worldwide communications
Revelation 11:9,10

In this verse describing the death of two witnesses (whom we will learn about at a later time) it is describing something that only within the last few decades where it would be possible for every man to be watching at the same time- such an event. With CNN and other global news feeds continuously running 24/7.

Israel surrounded by enemy nations
Psalms 83:4-8

This is another no brainer really. One only has to think of 1 enemy, Iran, but think about how even the west, and under the present occupying administration in Washington, is rethinking any possibility of continuing friend and ally status with Israel. Just in case you missed it,
I did a post on Israel a few weeks ago which shows just how alone this country is in this world. This is to set up a time soon where God will intervene and save Israel from her enemies, as written about in Ezekiel.

Many false prophets and apostasy
Matthew 24:24

I will be doing a detailed post on apostasy in the Church very soon, which will cover this prophecy which is coming to pass now.

Asia/2 million man army
Revelation 9:14-16

A few decades ago (not to mention in the days of John!) the prospect of an army being so vast would been extremely frightening. We know that China alone has a standing army of 2 million!

Those are just some of the Bible prophecies which have already happened and are happening right now. Stay tuned for the next part- more prophecies which are happening now, and more to come.

  1. Hi Carolyn,
Talk about 'spiritual blindness' that has infected/ invaded our so-called Christian church in America! The newest book I am now reading by the president of Moody Bible Institute talks about that in depth. I wish you had access to these great books that a friend is just dropping into my lap constantly!
I hope you and your husband are feeling well... and never doubt that you have a good friend in Wisconsin who loves you as a Christian sister!

    God Bless your Efforts,

  3. Hey Carolyn,

Some very interesting prophecies there, I'll have to do some reading on them..

I responded on your earlier post, BTW, about the Flood; are you moving on from that now?

    Cheers,

  5. Hi Matt, yes, sorry, I did read your comments on the flood. Sorry, I got so busy I couldn't respond- I did consider your points, and they do make sense. I admit I am not much of an apologist sometimes as I really don't have the time or patience to keep up with all the new scientific things, but I do still try and learn what I can. I will admit there are many things that seem and are logical, and Biblically illogical- but I still stand on the Bible as the Word of God. The Words of Jesus show that the Bible is His Word, and that God's foolishness is still wiser than human wisdom. There are many things I don't understand, but I know that someday I will know the things I am meant to know.
I realize this may seem lame to some, but I don't apologize for my belief in God's Word.
Yes, there are many arguments which make sense, but in all what I have learned about Christ and other religions and philosophies- Christ is the only one which makes sense to me.

Sorry Matt- I know you make valid points though, and I do appreciate your imput too. I'm glad you're still reading!

    Be well Matt! Thanks

  6. Carolyn,

Hey Carolyn, you may have noticed, but I started a new blog - http://hcenthusiasts.blogspot.com/

I'm trying to get 10 authors for it. I've already got a few. I was wondering if you'd like to be an author. It would be great if you would. If you would like to.. I just need your email address so I can send you an invite to be an author.

    Thanks,
    AJ

  7. Hey Carolyn,

    Thanks for your reply.

I'm not going to press the issue, because I get the feeling that you are happy with the faith that you have and I don't want to do anything to disrespect that.

I am merely trying to understand some things about the human experience that I don't understand; one of these things is religious belief.

However, I assure you that if you ever decide to take a real leap of faith and trust that your salvation will be unaffected by accepting the reality of the world we live in, you will not be disappointed.

This world is beautiful and if it is the work of an all-powerful Creator, then He really is a genius and we should all be thoroughly impressed by what He has accomplished - His publicists need to do a better job though, because they really don't do Him any favours...

    Take care,

    Matt

  8. Hi Matt- I can agree with you on God's genius ;-)
I really can't look at much and not see His hand in creation, and yes, it is beautiful!
I also can understand your wanting to understand other people's beliefs. I have studied other religions for the same reason.
And yes, there are still a lot of Christians who could do a better "job" at representing Him. I know I don't do the best job all the time either, but I'm a work in progress.
I know it's hard to explain a lot- but Matt, I do hope you keep coming back to read some more. Thanks~

  9. Oh, I'll be around!

I know I can sometimes come off as an evolution evangelist; but it just seems crazy to me that people would deny the existence of an aspect of the natural world that is so elegant and astonishing.

Just think, for you to be alive; every single one of your ancestors had to have survived the trials of life, reproduce and nurture their offspring. Every single one of your ancestors survived long enough to pass on its genes. You can trace this lineage back for almost 3 Billion years to the dawn of Life itself!

I don't know about you, but knowing that all life is related on some level, we're just different branches of the same tree, somehow make the world that bit more special.

And there's nothing - nothing at all - to say that God wasn't behind the whole thing.

    But that's just me!

    Regards,

  10. Matt, I can understand what you are saying. I find things such as that amazing as well, and all nature for that matter. I just see in a different perspective. I had a friend of mine e mail me a few photos the other day. I'm sure you can find them on the net somewhere, as they were public photos. Anyway, they are flowers called Parrot Flowers, only found in Thailand. They are amazing, as they look like birds. I see things like that and I see a creator's hand in it.
Thanks though Matt. I do enjoy talking with you~

  11. The Parrot Flowers are incredible, as is the story behind them.

As I said, there is nothing to say say that a Creator is not guiding or influencing the development of life; it is beyond the scope of science to know this at all.

But it is beyond a doubt that the world is very old and that things certainly look as though they are related via common ancestry. It would be unprofessional to pretend that the evidence doesn't point this way.
